STCW Security Awareness (PSA) Course for Cruise Ships
About the Course
This fully online, ISPS Code-compliant, MCA-Approved (STCW & ISPS) Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) Course for Cruise Ships, also termed as a Vessel Security Awareness (VSA) Course, meets with the mandatory training requirement under STCW for crew members and associated staff working onboard cruise ships or passenger vessels who are not assigned Designated Security Duties onboard. The PSA Course for Cruise Ships provides learners with the necessary knowledge to meet the mandated instruction as per STCW, the MNTB KUPs, IMO Model Course 3.27, and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) guidelines. This course does not provide instruction on specific security practices. Instead, it focuses on raising awareness of the various procedures, protocols, international codes and conventions that are established for security purposes.
The online Security Awareness (PSA) Course for Cruise Ships has been specifically tailored for crew and staff working on Cargo Vessels, Offshore Wind Farms, Ferries, and Mobile Drilling Platforms. We also provide customised versions of the Security Awareness Course for the Cargo Ship Sector and Luxury Yacht Sector.
This training provides essential education for crew members without specific security duties, ensuring they meet the Knowledge, Understanding, and Proficiency (KUP) requirements outlined in STCW Table A-VI/6-1. It aligns with Chapter XI-2 of the annex to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974, as amended, and complies with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. All seafarers working in any capacity on vessels subject to the ISPS Code must complete Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) Course for Cruise Ships.
The online Security Awareness (PSA) Course for Cruise Ships is Approved by the UK DfT Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) and carries international recognition and acceptance. It covers the 2010 Manila Amendments and conforms to the requirements of Section A-VI/6, paragraph 4 of the STCW Convention and Code, as well as Table A-VI/6-1.
