Frequently Asked Questions

  • Once you have purchased your online course, you will automatically be sent two emails. The first email will have your purchase details and order number, this is for your records. The second email which is actually sent at the same time will contain a uniquely coded hyperlink that looks like this: https://courses.virsec.org.

If you cannot see the login email in your Inbox, check in your spam or junk email folders as it has most likely ended up in there due to your email security settings. If you still cannot locate the second email, contact us at [email protected] and we will assist you.

The Login email will take you to your area within the Learning Management System (LMS) and the very first time you login, you will be asked to create a new password that is applicable to your course area, and not your shopping cart. Make sure that you make a note of this username [email address] and your new password.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not try to use the details you have for your shopping cart [for buying courses on our website]. The details in your shopping cart stay the same as you created and should not be confused with your course login username and password. Ideally you should ensure that the password is different.

Reason 1:

If you have logged in previously, and now are seeing a notice in red on your login page, then it’s highly likely that you have exited the course without using the EXIT buttons, or experienced an internet outage and are still logged in somewhere (on this device or another), or have a link still open from within the course to an external document or website. What you must do is:

  • Close all open browser windows including links from the course to external websites or documents on any devices you have logged into the course on.
  • Completely shut down the device that you are using and then reboot it.
  • Go to https://courses.virsec.org and use your login details to re-enter the course.

 

Reason 2:

If you have logged in previously, and now are seeing a notice stating 'Access to this page is not allowed. Please click here to logout.' then as with Reason 1, it’s highly likely that you have previously exited the course without using the EXIT buttons, or experienced an internet outage and / or you are still logged in somewhere (on this device or another), or have a link still open from within the course to an external document or website. What you must do is:

  • Close all open browser windows including links from the course to external websites or documents on any devices you have logged into the course on.
  • Completely shut down the device that you are using and then reboot it.
  • Go to https://courses.virsec.org and use your login details to re-enter the course.

 

Reason 3:

Another issue we experience is learners are copying and pasting their details in from the email and it adds extra wording in front of their email address that looks like this ‘mailto:’ Please ensure that your username is your email address used at the time of purchase and that no extra wording has been placed in front from coding in your email.

Yes you can. When you go to your login window at https://courses.virsec.org, there is an option there to change/reset passwords. This will send an email to your registered email account for you to change the password. Have some patience as the system may take up to 10 minutes to send the email to your account. Do not keep hitting the resend password or it will cause you serious issues. Wait until the link appears [as stated, this can take up to 10 minutes].
