Frequently Asked Questions

Upon completing your course, this encompasses the learning phase, confirmation questions, final assessment and submission of related verification forms and course feedback, you must email us at [email protected] informing us that you have fully completed the course and adhered to the requirements. Upon us opening your notification email and commencing the verification and approval process, certification will be issued within 24 to 48 hours except for Fridays, weekends and Bank Holidays. The offices are open from 0900hrs BST, Monday to Thursday and 0900hrs to 1500hrs BST on Friday.

Our normal office working hours are strictly 0900hrs to 1700hrs (Monday to Thursday) and 0900hrs to 1500hrs (Friday). If you require us to expedite your official certificate an official certificate outside of working hours, over the weekend, or on Bank Holidays for any given reason, then you will be charged an additional fee for out-of-hours certification requirements of £55 GBP (+VAT), this is in addition to any associated postage and administration charges.

Note that it is not the responsibility of Virsec to ensure you meet with timelines that are not related to our operating procedures and you should ensure sufficient time is set when taking courses to allow for certification processes.

For many of our MCA Approved courses, we can provide an embossed stamped, high-quality hardcopy version of the certificate. You will be sent this option when we email you the electronic version to you if applicable. For PSA, PDSD and Crowd Management & Passenger Safety courses, there is a small administration/postage charge to cover the certificate costs of £36 GBP (inclusive of VAT). Thos taking the Ship Security Officer (SSO) Course are sent this free of charge.

Please Note: This is an optional service and not a mandatory requirement. If you choose to use this service, you accept the charge associated with it.

When we take payment for a hardcopy certificate, we post these First Class, Recorded Delivery by Royal Mail. We can provide the tracking number of the certificate to you upon request and this can be used to track the progress of your certificate. We do not accept and responsibility or liability for (a) any certificates that do not reach their destination, or (b)certificates returned undelivered to us once we have left in the care of Royal Mail. Any re-posting of undelivered certificates, or any duplicates required to certificates being damaged or lost in the post will be charged at the same rate.
