Elements of Shipboard Safety: Module 2

Accidents at sea have been happening for hundreds of years, but advancements in safety systems, procedures and training have meant that safety at sea is nowadays much better than it used to be. However, despite these modern advancements, there are still more accidents every year than there should be. In fact, upon subsequent investigation it is often found that many accidents were in part or wholly avoidable, and many can be traced to some element of human error. This second module of the 3 module course, seeks to highlight the importance of safety to every crew and staff member, and the need for us all to keep constantly vigilant.
