About the Course

This online course will help you to comply with UK requirements by focusing on the guidelines set out in 'A Master's Guide to the UK Flag (Large Yacht Edition 3)', released by the UK DfT Maritime and Coastguard Agency.  This course aims to allow the learner to train themselves in vital regulation and procedures in the most efficient way possible - by studying each of the 14 subjects in this course, with learning consolidated via confirmation and assessment questions. As the user navigates the course, they will encounter 50 confirmation questions which when answered, give learner feedback. This learning is then further consolidated by use of a final assessment of 75 questions, with a pass mark of 80%.

Target Audience

No prerequisites are required for ship's personnel to get entry on to this course, which can be delivered on board ship or ashore. This online course has been created to give staff and crew of all levels a firm grounding in the UK Flag Regulations and Procedures. This course is aimed at: Any Senior crew and Officers (for example, the Captain, First Officer etc.).

Course Duration

The course lasts for approximately 4.5 to 5.5 hours depending on the learner’s abilities and reading speed. However, you can enter and exit this course as often as you require but you must complete each assessment in one sitting as they will reset if you exit during an assessment phase.
